The library collection is comprised of health, science,
medicine (conventional, alternative), business, management,
general education, books, bound journals, and other reference
material.
For more reference and research and to support students,
in addition American Liberty University introduces a variety
of web site addresses and on-line services.
Students with a valid American Liberty University student
ID card may use the University's library services during
posted hours.
Other city, county, and local Universities in the area
may also be utilized by students.

Students have several options for purchasing books. These
include:
- Amazon.com The online bookseller
offers new books at up to 20 percent off the list price.
The links go directly to each book's page on the company's
web site. Amazon.com has a secure ordering page and can
usually ship books within 24 hours.
- Big Words and Textbooks.
These companies sell new and used textbooks at a discount.
You will need to do searches on their sites for the books
you want to purchase. Make sure you have the right edition
of any book before you buy it.
- Book Bazaar. This service allows
students to buy and sell used textbooks. Use of this service
is for students, alumni, staffers, and faculty members
and is subject to certain conditions.
- Barnes & Noble and Borders.
These companies have stores and on-line sites with a wide
selection of books.
- Half.com and Elephant.com.
This service allows students to buy and sell
used textbooks.
Also students should check with their instructors
for suggestions as to where to purchase their textbooks.

- ALUs Refund Policy
We will be happy to issue a textbook refund for books returned
with a valid receipt within the first week of classes.
- Special course sessions may have unique refund
time frames; please contact the Store Manager for
details.
- Outside this time frame, a signed add/drop slip
is required in addition to the valid receipt.
- Textbooks must be in original condition.
- Refunds will be given in the original form of
payment.
We are sorry we cannot issue textbook refunds without a
valid bookstore receipt.

pack compilations, academically priced software, an extensive

Course Book Information Request Forms
We are happy to take your Course Book Requests for the
upcoming term. Please complete our Online Request
Form and submit. Once your information is submitted,
we will send you an email confirmation within 3 business
days. We hope this process will make preparation easier
for you.
Determine the Quantity of Textbooks to Order
We strive to have, at minimum, enough books for everyone
who wants one. To achieve this goal, we carefully review
all the information we have available to us. This includes
the quantity students request, as well as the sales history
of both the book and the course. We do not adjust the requested
quantity arbitrarily. Our thorough examination process is
used to determine the number of books that will fulfill
the needs of every student who wishes to buy the book.
Course Packs
There is more to course packs than meets the eye. In accordance
with federal law, copyright permission must be obtained
for copyrighted sources included in the course pack. This
is a time consuming process. Permissions are held either
by publishers or individual authors, and royalties generally
must be paid to the rights holder.
Often, title rights are sold from one publisher to another
or ownership reverts from a publisher or a succession of
publishers to the author, who is not always easy to locate.
The process of tracking down the copyright holder and then
obtaining permission is generally laborious, and many publishers
require as much as eight weeks advance notice of a request
for permission to copy from a work. Obtaining permissions
for thousands of sources is both time and labor intensive.
Course pack prices are determined by the cost of publisher
royalties plus fees for photocopying and labor costs associated
with obtaining copyright permissions. Royalties and labor
costs vary from pack to pack.
While it might seem a more expedient solution to simply
copy material without notifying the author(s), doing so
would run counter to academic ethos of respecting the work,
ideas and intellectual property of authors. It also would
violate the legal rights of the author or publisher.
It is essential that students request course packs at the
same time that textbook information is requested. This leaves
us sufficient time to handle any copyright-related obstacles
that arise and helps us to have course packs ready when
students need them.
Faculty Authors
Please notify us when a book of yours is published. We
not only carry a full selection of books by campus authors,
we can also arrange book signings and pre-publication receptions.
- Textbook Information
We stock all required textbooks for course use
at American Liberty University. We also supply a
large number of used textbooks for students' convenience
and savings. Buying used textbooks saves students
up to 25% off the publisher's list prices. In addition,
we offer continuous year-round buyback of textbooks.
Please note: American Liberty University I.D. is
required to sell back students' textbooks.
Buyback Policy
All books we buy must be in good condition. The
bindings must be in good shape, with covers and
all pages intact. The pages must be readable. They
should be free of any highlighting, underlining,
or notes, which make the text illegible. Study guides
and workbooks must be "like new" and completely
free of writing.
Current Edition Textbooks in Use Next Term
We want to buy current edition books that your professors
have ordered for use next term. As soon as the faculty
submits their book orders, usually close to the
end of each term, we have "demand" for those books.
We will pay students up to 40% of the selling price
for hard cover and large-format soft cover textbooks
in good condition, if they have been ordered for
the next term and we are not overstocked.
When We Have Filled Your Professors' Orders
When we have bought enough books from students to
fill a professor's order, we can no longer pay 40%
of the selling price for that title. This is because
we are fully stocked and no longer have "demand"
for that book.
Disk, Tape, and Workbook Packages
If a text was sold as part of a package containing
the book and a computer disk, an audiotape, or a
workbook, these items must be included when students
sell back the book.
