Dear Friends,
Although it seems like yesterday, it was actually a few years back when I became convinced that some very basic changes needed to be established in the way our current educational system offers opportunities for basic and advanced learning.
At the time, I was attending an educational seminar and was one of the featured speakers.
As expert after expert expounded on their various topics, it was obvious to me that there was a great deal of emphasis on the ‘quality’ of education, new laws and regulations governing the business end of educational institutions, and how they could manage to give more time to students on an individual basis.
These were and are valid considerations. However, my own particular concern regarded creating a way in which far greater flexibility could be made available to each student, enabling anyone with the desire and a few basic tools to continue learning and perfecting their areas of interest.
It was apparent that the time-honored techniques of alternative medicine needed to be incorporated into the modern instructional world, but how?
My words were woven around this question.
What I said at the time, and maintain even more fervently to this day, was that taking the process of education into the home was the most versatile and practical answer to the problem. What was stressed was much more than any of the then available off-campus or remote learning programs.
It makes economic sense in terms of transportation, especially for students who work and have family obligations, and allows any earnest seeker of knowledge access to the degree programs they desire, all revolving around their individual time constraints.
The feedback to my position was mixed at the time. But now that the current technologies, especially revolving around the internet, have been advanced to their current spectacular state, the idea has become the reality. Between the efforts of interested parties and all of the new ways of communicating, students around the globe are now enabled to pursue their further learning as far as their willingness allows.
We at American Liberty University are quite proud of our record of continually promoting and developing ever better standards for remote learning.
Our goal is to enable anyone with the drive, will and ability to be able to obtain a quality education wherever they may be.
We relate to the challenges inherent in the process of off-campus learning and strive to live up to our learning philosophy: Education for anybody, anywhere!
All of our faculty are motivated by excellence to make this possible, and our search for new techniques and technologies is driven by an on-going dedication to provide the most facilitious learning experience possible.
The ALU is at the cutting edge of non-traditional learning institutes, and offers classes and courses up to the Post-Doctorate level. Utilizing the internet, various learning tools and weekend classes, our campus is able to accommodate our students to the greatest degree possible, in almost every situation, and with the greatest time flexibility possible.
I invite you to join the ALU family. Whether as a student, professor or participating faculty member, your participation is extremely important. Together, we can realize the reality of bringing quality education to all corners of the world - and feel great as we make it happen.
Our mission is clear, our goals ever-expanding, and our direction is a brighter future. Join us!
